All of the items I will be listing came directly from Kenner in Cincinnati, and all have been in my possession since the 1980's when I worked there. They have not been offered before, and everything is guaranteed genuine.
This auction is for one Kenner LUKE SKYWALKER head as shown in the photos. This is a pre-production prototype refe...rred to as a "First Shot". These were made for internal use at Kenner for testing and evaluation prior to commencing a full production run. They are scarce because of the limited numbers, and desirable collectables because they are the first pieces out of fresh molds, so detail is crisp. In most cases, "First Shots" were not made in the same color plastic as the production runs, simply because the factories ran whatever plastic was already in their machines. Changing colors was considered an unnecessary expense.
This head is made in clear plastic, so it is difficult to convey the surface contours in a photo. The third photo in my listing is taken with the broken side facing up. This head failed the "head-pull test" so it's not all there. The part that is there is in excellent condition without damage. When holding the face and viewing from the front, about 1/3 of the face is missing on the right side. The nose is all there, lips are 3/4 there. Left eye is all there, while right eye is just barely there. It's an odd artifact looking for a good home.

This head failed the "head-pull test" and broke in half. I only have half a head. If you look at the face straight-on, all of the nose is there, about 3/4 of the mouth is there, left eye is all there but the right eye is barely there. Almost all of the right side of the face is missing. The third photo in my listing is taken with the broken side of the head facing the camera, but because it is made of clear plastic, that surface doesn't really show up, instead you see the other side facing away from the camera.
