This listing is for a Pflueger Everlaster Surf Casting Reel equipped with a Williams drag, an early star wheel drag system. The reel held 400 yards of whatever line would have been spooled in the 20's. The latest patent date on this reel is April 3, 1923. The reel is in excellent mechanical condition, The endplates and handles are hard rubber. It has an early anti-reverse mechanism and a leather thumb brake. The clicker is very strong. The reel was in storage for many years and ...the old line on the spool stained it and wore off some of the nickel plating. I removed the line but couldn't get a good picture of the spool. If the buyer is going to display or fish with this reel, a new spool of line will cover the imperfection. I am including the early maroon box the reel came in, but it is in poor condition. See the last picture. Total weight of the package is more than 3 pounds.
