Antique European Hemp Grain Sack dating from 1890's thru 1930's! We are direct importers only and buy directly from the farms and pickers. Ours come from all over central and Eastern Europe. The various stripes indicate which farm or family the grain belonged to so they got their own back after sending to the local mill. Almost all are hand stitched together down the sides.
These bags are high quality natural fiber fabric great for making pillow cases, tote bags, table run...ners, rugs and floor runners, Christmas stockings, upholstery, etc! The uses are endless! Best of all, these bags are 100% machine washable! We use cold water and tumble dry low or air dry.
This particular bag is huge at 21" x 58" and has beautiful blue stripes. Please examine the photos as there are several stains/marks on this bag. The material and texture is thick and somewhat coarse, yet reasonably soft, lending itself well to various fabric projects. There are no patches or holes.
