Collins KWM - 1 Vintage Ham Radio Transceiver Prototype Unit Very Rare

This is a very rare and genuine Collins prototype unit! We’ve talked to some Collins experts, and they all agree that this is likely one of the first ten or fifteen KWM-1's ever made, although you won't see a serial number anywhere on it. It was built by Collins engineers to test and ultimately perfect the KWM-1 before they were put into production.
Here are some key differences we've noticed between this unit and a "normal" KWM-1. First, you'll notice that there is no "dial t...rim" adjustment on the front panel. Second, the "PA Tune" and "PA Load" knobs are some sort of duodial / counting knobs, which are not found on production units. The power connector on production units is 22-pin, and the power connector on this unit is an 11-pin. Lastly, the logo on this unit is a script, whereas it is the common Collins "winged emblem" on production units. These are just the differences we noticed, there may be others.
This unit is believed to have not been used in many years, likely decades, and with this in mind we have made no attempt to power-on this unit or test in any way. It is being sold exactly as found, and will almost certainly require servicing which could include (but not limited to): cleaning, alignment, lubricating controls, new components such as capacitors or tubes (if present), and so on. With this in mind, the unit is being sold as-is with no returns allowed. Unless you are qualified and capable of working on this unit yourself, or have access to someone who can, we suggest you revisit the idea of whether this is the right equipment for you.
