Item History & Price
Reference Number: Avaluer:20510398 |
The suit was produced by the company NPO-SM (see the label on jacket) and it's one of... the few models of "Sneg" distributed in the early and mid '90s to spetnaz units such as OMON, SOBR, ODON, VITYAZ, etc.., including russian Militia. It's a winter insulated type and it was meant to be worn as oversuit over another field uniform. It was even used adding inside the lining with fur collar of winter VSR/Afghanka uniforms. The jacket has zipper closure (it's a bit old but it still works, I suggest a delicate use) plus automatic buttons (one of them is not working), sleeve pockets, hidden chest pocket for Makarov pistol and elastic cuffs; salopette trousers have belt loops, knife/bayonet leg pocket, buttoned closure (a couple are missing) and suspenders. Size tags are faded. It fits like 50/52/54 size (Medium/Large), depending how tight or large you tend to wear uniforms.
The Vest-M was produced by the manufacturer Vera and was one of the types mostly used by MVD troops together with SMK/OREH uniforms. It fits 3 AK mags, Makarov pistol, hand grenades, VOG grenades and various accessories. The camo pattern is commonly known as "KKO/Amoeba" and it is one of the many greenish colour variants which were made.
The pants belonged to an early camouflage suit named Noch-91 made by the company Vera as the Vest-M, in this case in the urban grey colour variant. Some signs of use but no serious damages. There are knife/bayonet pocket on right leg and AK mag pocket on left leg. Size 50/52. As the other clothing, this camo is also one of the most iconic garment used by MVD troops in that era.
All this gear was widely used in both the two chechen conflicts and for domestic security operations during the '90s.
It's a nice and rare kit for all collectors of russian militaria. For any other details, just ask. I ship Worldwide!
