I am no expert , although this knife appears that it is a RARE PRODUCTION variation M9A1, made by Phrobis International in 1990-1991. But not 100% sure, I am still investigating, you be the judge. Please view all photos for the complete description and condition. According to Rich Neyman, Author of "M9Bayonet The Authorized History".The blade was made by Marto, but the rest of the knife and the sheath was made using the USA Phrobis parts, (although this scabbard doe...s not display the Dolphin sticker.) Again you be the judge, I am no expert! Knife is Stamped M9A1, Includes a Scabbard, that is designed to swivel. Knife has had little use if any and is in very good condition. AGAIN I WANT TO STRESS, I AM NOT AN EXPERT ON THIS M9A1. Any insight on this M9A1 is appreciated. Please ask any and all questions before bidding, and I will answer to the best of my knowledge. Below is some additional information I have obtained in my research about the M9A1 Bayonet:There have been five main makes of M9s: Phrobis, Buck (subcontracted by Phrobis III during the original Army contract), LanCay, Ontario and Tri-Technologies. Starting in 1987, Phrobis subcontracted Buck, finishing up in 1989. It was around this time that Buck sold commercial M9s as well, which it did up to 1997. Therefore all indications show that the M9A1 was made between 1990-1991 and was the LAST production of the Phrobis bayonet. Again making this M9A1 very rare, as there was and unknown number of them produced between 1990-1991. Here is a list of the years the M9 was made and the makers.
