LOT OF 1 VINTAGE COMIC BOOK: OUT OF THE SHADOWS #9. Issues #8 And 9 Of This Title Appear To Be The Toughest To Find, Although Most Of The Series Is Uncommon. Memorable Cover With The Skeleton Entering On His Wheelchair! This Title Is One That Is Increasingly Sought-After, And This Particular Issue Is Arguably The Rarest Of All And It Has One Of The Better Covers. Plus It Contains T...op Notch Art By Reed Crandall Inside, So The Interior Artwork Is Very Well-Illustrated, As Well. It Is Tough To Obtain In Any Shape, Making This Presentable Copy A Real Noteworthy Find. It Is So Unusual To See One In Intact Shape That Even CGC Has Only Seen A Total Of Just 21 Copies, In ANY Condition, After Two Full Decades Of Grading Comics. (So You May Have To Settle For A Pesky Replica "Photocopy" Edition Or At Best An Ugly Reader Copy If You Miss This Opportunity.) This Book Begins With "The Corpse That Came To Dinner" By Crandall Which Stars A Truly Gruesome Zombie; Followed By "The Horror Of Candle Lodge" Which Features Art By Nick Cardy. Up Next Is "Till Death Do Us Past", Which Also Has Great Art By Cardy. Not To Mention "Hanged By The Neck" With Haunting Visages Of Nooses And Graphic Hangings, And More. The Pre-Code Horror Craze Was At Its Apex, So It's Got The Ubiquitous Salacious Content Including Gore And Good Girl Art And Graphic Violence And Supernatural Themes. This Was Released As The July, 1953, Issue From Pines Publications/Standard Comics. This particular issue seldom surfaces in any shape, so a solid bright unrestored copy like this is sure to be hotly contested by the ravenous horror fans. THIS OLD COLLECTABLE COMIC HAS AN ORIGINAL PRICE OF JUST TEN CENTS. The Horror And Supernatural Themes Never Go Out Of Style! This hails from a dark, dry, pet-free, climate-controlled environment, within a mylar comic sleeve with archival backer-board. This comic is intact and complete and supple and flat. Everything is still attached; all the innards are still bone-white (except two pages with darker areas, possibly excess black ink from printing) and flat and tightly connected with no long rips or major dog-ears, and the colors are still vibrant. It looks like it was read and enjoyed, as there are the obligatory spine-stresses, dings, edge flaws, indentations, and other signs of use. There is one small edge tear to the left center edge of the back cover, along with some areas of diminished gloss. It has some age toning visible to the interiors of the covers. It still retains an impressive amount of luster, and the eye appeal of the amazing front cover is impressive! Crucial fare for any fan of American Pop Culture from the middle of the twentieth century.
MATERIAL LIKE THIS SPOTLIGHTING ICONIC THEMES OF POP CULTURE AND LITERATURE NEVER LOSES ITS APPEAL. This will be sent out in an archival Mylar sleeve with acid-free backer-board from E.
