Selling a rare 1977 Altec 9440A stereo power amplifier. These are regarded as the best vintage SS stereo amplifiers and they're very hard to come by! I actually believe this is the only one available online, and there have only been two that have sold online from what I could find, haha.This unit is in overall good cosmetic condition with some normal wear from the years but no missing knobs, screws or major defects.The unit powers up but it takes roughly 2-3 seconds before it produces ...sound and the VU meters don't work. Unsure of what's causing it, could be an easy fix but I'm unsure. I did test both channels though through the unbalanced 1/4" jacks and both work as should. That said, the control pots are a little scratchy but not terrible.This is being sold AS IS as it will need a little bit of maintenance to be 100%, but appears to be working fine asides from the VU meters.
