THE BEATLESA HARD DAY’S NIGHT – UK 1st PRESS LP (1964) Catalogue Number: PMC 1230 Matrix Number:Side 1: XEX 481-3NSide 2: XEX 482-3N StampersSide 1: 3 APASide 2: ? AMA Condition Vinyl- Very Good + Vinyl retains lovely sheen. There is one small feelable scratch on Track 3 Side 2 and some ‘milky...’ patches on both sides. I feel this could be residue from a cleaning product, I think a professional clean will remove them. Otherwise just fine hairlines visible. Audio – Excellent Audio is clean, bright and distortion free. There is some light background noise/crackle throughout, more obvious on run in/run off and between tracks. There are no issues on playback across the feelable scratch, just a few very light crackles. The ‘milky’ patches have no effect on playback. No sticks, pops or jumps at all. Still a very enjoyable listen. Labels – Excellent+ Labels are in beautiful condition with just some minimal spindle wear to each side. No tears, stickers or writing. Rim text starts "The Parlophone Co. Ltd.." With the "Sold in the UK…" text across the centre, has KT stamp to Side 1. Sleeve – Excellent Garrod & Lofthouse ‘patents pending’ sleeve is in nice condition with a couple of thumbnail creases to the front cover, towards the opening edge. Storage wear to corners, more to bottom corners. Rear cover is very clean with external flipbacks. Some light age discolouration. Spine is very clean and fully readable. Inner Sleeve – Excellent The original, poly-lined, Emitex inner sleeve is in lovely, clean condition with just some light creasing, a very small tear to one side centre hole and a little, light age discolouration.
