Kawanabe Kyosai, Authentic, Antique Woodblock Print—Kyosai Don - Ga RARE Fuji
Item History & Price
Reference Number: Avaluer:2060274 |
Kyosai is considered the greatest successor of Hokusai (of whom he was ‘not’ a student). Unruly as his temperament suggests, he possessed the dignity, power, and restraint of Hokusai, with an exuberance for the fantastic and an unrivaled command of drawing.
A monster creator! And I’m not being literal. THIS IS ART OF THE HIGHEST SOPHISTICATION FROM ONE OF JAPAN’S MOST FAMOUS AND BELOVED ARTI...STS. As is said elsewhere—art such as this reminds us to live right, fare, desiring to see all, finding the sacred and the abundance that surrounds us, with hilarity, while cherishing it.
Good state of preservation. Quite good registry and impression. A wonderful and rare addition to any collection. I have published adequate photos, so please judge for yourself.
