Vintage 4-4-0 General Steam Engine and Tender KitOne Gauge
This is a large engine, measuring about 15 inches long and 6 inches high. The engine is constructed of wood and metal. I'm not sure if this was a premade kit or if someone made it from scratch, but I think it looks neat. The boiler, smoke stack, cow catcher and cab area are constructed of metal with a wood core. I tested this unit with 1 gauge track and a DC transformer and was surprised with how ...well it ran. I was only able to get the engine to go in one direction, but it did that well. No lights on this unit. There are various marks on the engine and the cab roof has a significant dent in the corner.
The tender (I don't think it goes with this engine) is all metal and I'm not sure who made it as I can't find any manufacturer markings. The tender is approximately 8 3/4 inches long, wheel to wheel as they stick out past the frame. The engine doesn't have a way to attach the tender, but that is an easy fix. The tender has a few marks in the finish. I don't have any box for this unit, but will package appropriately so it arrives safely. Heavy unit, thus the shipping.
