_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________BUY IT NOW with FREE SHIPPING in the USA!THE ITEM DESCRIPTION: RF Outcault's comic strip character the Yellow Kid had a newspaper debut in 1895/1896 in a strip called Hogan's Alley [based on Hell's Kitchen NYC]. The character was an immediate sensation & was soon an advertising powerhouse endorsing various products including cig...arettes, cigars, chewing gum & much more. This white milk glass bottle held an unknown brand of pepper sauce or hot sauce & was painted yellow. Remarkably retains about 60% of the original paint. The glass is molded to the shape of the kid with his arms in the back & fingers with buttons on his nightshirt. In front you can see his molded toes at the bottom just poking out from under his full length nightshirt. On the front of the nightshirt are molded the following words: SAY! AINT I HOT STUFF. The molded glass head is frosted glass. A piece of the milk glass collar has broken off but I have the piece. I have glued it in place but it did not hold. I'll need a stronger glue or epoxy. There is a sliver of glass missing from bottom of his neck, the frosted end that slips down into the bottle. 6.75" tall. A very hard to find item now more than 120 years old. 052019/09HE(2)
