Aristcraft 4-6-2 Pacific Steam Locomotive ART-21409 Rio Grande #801 G Scale. This partially disassembled locomotive offers a great opportunity for the scale modeler and/or Kit-basher to rebuild the loco to any configuration and road name desired. This Pacific is from the last and most advanced generation of Aristocraft 4-6-2 locos. It is equipped with Aristocraft’s last iteration of electronics which included circuitry and wiring for running on battery power. I’ve been told the ele...ctronics include integral plug-ins allowing DCC upgrading. The Aristocraft Remote Control and plug-ins are often on auction on eBay. Other improvements to this last gen Aristocraft Pacific include all metal side and driving rods that replaced the toy-like plastic rods of all earlier Aristocraft Pacifics, and highly upgraded switches for the motor, lights, and smoke generator which is also upgraded from previous versions.This was previously auctioned on eBay and shipped, via USPS.....the carrier proceeded to mishandle the package and the loco was damaged. Buyer returned to me and now my loss can be your gain.Worst damage is the two mounting barrels on the rear of the boiler underside, to which the motor block and wheel assembly attaches with screws (included), are broken off (barrels are visible in the spare parts photo at the top right). The cab roof was broken off and the pieces have been glued back on in prep for a rebuild I’ve decided not to complete, however, one small piece is missing so would have to be filled with modeler’s putty before repainting. One of the hinge arms of the smoke box front door is broken off and missing. One rear drive wheel brake rig is broken and partial piece is included, but two undamaged spare brake rigs are included (shown in parts photo). Now the good news! The locomotive was fully operational when originally shipped to the last buyer on eBay (unfortunately I have no way to test the loco in its disassembled state). Several parts that are most often missing from the Aristocraft Pacific typically seen on eBay are all present!!! This includes the bell and stanchion, the whistle, the compressors, and the reverse gear. Also typically found broken and/or missing on these locos are the grab iron stanchions along each side of the boiler and the front marker lights. Here, all grab iron stanchions are present and unbroken. The front marker lights are very delicate and weak and snap off with little force, but here they are properly mounted and unbroken. All the fasteners necessary to re-assemble the side rods and valve gear, and re-assembly the wheel and drive unit to the boiler (after the barrels are re-bonded to the boiler) are included.I do have an undamaged replacement cab on auction that fits this loco, so be sure to check out that listing!Shipped with USPS Parcel Select or Priority Mail service at your option.Please be sure to carefully read this full description and carefully view the photos as they are both part of the description.
