Northwest Orient Airlines DC - 7c Yonezawa Complex Multi Action Plane
Item History & Price
Reference Number: Avaluer:21204932 | Country/Region of Manufacture: Japan |
Theme: Planes | Material: tin |
Brand: Yonezawa | UPC: Does not apply |
In typical Yonezawa engineering genius, this plane (from a single motor and drive gear) conducts the following actions:
The stewardess is at an open door and greets the passengers, as the door closes the passengers fill their seats. The inboard pr...opellers start, after a moment, the outboard propellers start, eventually the plane starts to roll along the floor. The plane stops, the outboard engines stop, the inboard engines stop and the passengers leave their seats as the door opens.
Essentially all the functions work on this plane, however one propeller wasn't spinning because it was slipping on the shaft ( I put a piece of sticky tac on it and it spins now). The action that would have made the door close and the passengers image move isn't working because a little shaft on the inside isn't getting enough friction to slide the bar that makes the action. I think I put a little blob of PVC on it to remedy that about a decade ago but today it isn't helping. So the mechanical part is working, it just needs a little more grip.
Over all, the plane is in pretty good cosmetic shape. With the exception of a bend at the base of the tail fin, the plane does not have major scratches, dents or oxidation. The wingspan is almost 2 feet. Made in Japan by Yonezawa and distributed by Cragstan.
Now for the bad news:
The door is missing! I was going to fabricate one but never got around to it. All the propellers are missing one blade. A little plastic antenna is missing as is the red lens for the light on top. Something I had just noticed (after displaying the plane for a decade) is that the litho is slightly off center on the body of the plane - you only really notice this when looking at it squarely from the front.
Please be aware of the shipping cost as this is a large item. I do not recommend overseas shipping.
Stay tuned as I have many more robots and space toys to list.
No zero feedback bidders please. Bidders with less than 10 feedback please contact me before bidding.
Pretty much all the toys I am offering should be considered to be for adult collectors rather than for children. The photos are always of the exact item you will receive unless otherwise noted.
I have to file a claim against any items that are left unpaid for 2 weeks, if there is an issue please contact me.
My pledge to you:
I will treat you the way I would want to be treated! If I so much as suspect an item is broken, incomplete or has any kind of problem, I will say so.
A word about shipping
I will ship within 2 business days and will only charge exact shipping cost. If it is less than quoted when rounded up by a maximum of 2 dollars then a refund will be issued. Shipping from Canada can be expensive this is beyond my control. I prefer not to be punished in feedback ratings for high shipping costs or slow posties, I will do all that I can to assure your item arrives as quickly and cheaply as possible and you cannot expect more from me than that. If for some reason you require a faster means of shipping I will be happy to accommodate you but please expect to pay the higher rate. I do not charge for my time or packing materials but will recycle boxes and clean packing wherever possible. I will pack your item carefully. If this is an international purchase you may be expected to pay customs imposed by your country. Overseas shipping will have to go airmail as the long delivery times of ground transportation are proving problematic, please ask for a quote prior to bidding. Of course, I will be happy to combine shipping. You should hold payment or notify me if you are planning on bidding on other items as I am likely to package and ship the first item immediately after it is paid for.
