c1899 PEMBROOK & DICKINS FINE PAIR ANTIQUE 19thC VICTORIAN STERLING SILVER VASESDescription:A decorative pair of ornate repousse antique Victorian hallmarked sterling silver vases, dating to the late 19th century, circa 1899. The vases stand on round pedestal bases, leading up to a highly detailed embossed body with naturalistic inspired design around four shield shaped cartouches.The bases of both are fully hallmarked as follows:Makers Mark: P&D for Pembrook & Dickins...Silver grade: Lion passant mark for Sterling 925 Silver Assay office: BirminghamDate: (z) 1899
Each vase contains an easily removable tin liner, to protect the silver if they were to be filled with water.
Dimensions:Height: 13.8 cm or 5 3/8 inchesWidth: 6.2 cm or 2 3/8 inchesGross Weight (weighted bases without liners): 309 grams, or 9.934 ozt. Condition:In good antique condition, without damage or restoration, only light age related wear. The bases are recently covered in green felt.
