Extremely Rare Polish Cavalry Officer Sabre, Sword
"Honor i Ojczyzna" wz. 21/22 with scabbar...d
Extremely rare massive Polish Cavalry Officer’s sword, sabre model wz. 1921/22. Brass hilt with original black lacquered leather covered wooden grip and bound with double twisted brass wire. The massive strongly curved (6.2 cm) single edged steel blade is cut with a full-length fuller and is double-edged towards the point, as well as being engraved with the Polish eagle, flowers and foliage, and the motto,
"HONOR I OJCZYZNA”.
The blade is stamped on the spine with the number 48 (possibly an inspector mark of military reception). There are no other visible markings on the blade so it's very likely that it's a replica from the '70s. The sabre in its original condition, while the scabbard is nickelated again many years ago, as I think.
Blade of the sabre is in excellent conditions. The hilt is in very good condition with beautiful patina and wire wrapping is intact.
Sabre measurements:
Overall length: 102 cm
Length of the blade: 85 cm
Curvature of the blade: 6.2 cm.
Width of the blade (widest point): 3.2 cm Used, with beautiful patina of age, complete and ... very beautiful!
