* Here is a Gorgeous Very Old Chinese/Japanese Raw Silk Robe/Kimono, with embroidered Dragons on the back and on the front pickets. There is also a red embroidered arch with some writing under it. The unusual thing about this robe it that there is a large white frog as a closure and it has a matching thicker belt. So you have 2 ways to close it. The dragons are embroidered in navy blue with white, black, and red accent colors. It is not lined and doesnt need to be the raw silk is very thick. It ...was hand embroidered with great skill. It is just lovely!!!! This robe has yellowed or darkened with age and is typical to it's ageing. This helps with deciding the age of it. This robe is larger and will also fit most men.* The robe is 51 inches long, it's long sleeves are 22 1/2 inches long and 16 1/2 inches wide, 24 1/2 inches from underarm to underarm. * This robe or kimono maybe Japanese, but made for the Chinese Market. The dragons are Chinese, the style of the sleeves are Japanese and so is the Shinto arch. The belt is Chinese Style and the large frog could be both. So this is some what a puzzle. * There is embroidery on this robe/kimono is so beautiful you can hang it as art. It took an artist to make this piece. Why have cookie cutter art when you can hang this in your home. It would be stunning in a bedroom or living room. It would be a show stopper and quite the conversation piece. I have many hanging in my home and I just love it!!!!! * Please look at all of the pictures.
