Warner Brothers Store Here we have a Marvel Comics CAPTAIN AMERICA SILK-SCREENED CANVAS PRE-TRIAL PROOF by STEVE KAUFMAN Signed by STAN LEE in gold ink. This rare Silk-Screened Canvas measures 20 inches by 20 inches and is SIGNED by STAN LEE in gold ink. Not available to the general public and with a limited production run of only 100 proofs worldwide these rarities were available in the early 9...0's and only available exclusively through the Warner Brothers Store. It comes to you undisplayed and in great condition. Any version is long SOLD OUT and near impossible to find. Kaufman originally created 8 different limited editions for Warner Brothers and was the first artist to form a bridge between Marvel Comics (Spiderman and the Hulk) and DC Comics (Superman and Batman) in fine arts. Kaufman has also created large originals with Stan Lee, the creator of Marvel Comics, signing each painting. Kaufman created his Comic Book Pop Art using comic book super heroes as his icon images. He coined the term, "embellished” by hand painting each of his limited editions. This Pre-Trial Proof is not one of the hand-embellished versions but a pre-trial sample canvas or Proof. Kaufman has refined the silk-screening process, allowing for greater fluidity and definition in expression. Kaufman's unique works reflect his changing thoughts and perspectives during the creative process. It is a must for your collection and ready to display. Steve Kaufman is best known as one of the protégé to the late Pop Art icon Andy Warhol. After Warhol's death, Kaufman was hired to finish many of the late master's work. He Kaufman has made an international impact on the art world on his own as the exclusive portrait to such celebrities as Frank Sinatra, Al Pacino, John Travolta, and many more. Captain America is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by cartoonists Joe Simon and Jack Kirby, the character first appeared in Captain America Comics #1 (cover dated March 1941) from Timely Comics, a predecessor of Marvel Comics. Captain America was designed as a patriotic supersoldier who often fought the Axis powers of World War II and was Timely Comics' most popular character during the wartime period. The popularity of superheroes waned following the war and the Captain America comic book was discontinued in 1950, with a short-lived revival in 1953. Since Marvel Comics revived the character in 1964, Captain America has remained in publication. The character wears a costume bearing an American flag motif, and he utilizes a nearly indestructible shield which he throws as a projectile. Captain America is the alter ego of Steve Rogers, a frail young man enhanced to the peak of human perfection by an experimental serum to aid the United Statesgovernment's efforts in World War II. Near the end of the war, he was trapped in ice and survived in suspended animation until he was revived in the present day. Although Captain America often struggles to maintain his ideals as a man out of his time with its modern realities, he remains a highly respected figure in his community which includes becoming the long-time leader of the Avengers.Captain America was the first Marvel Comics character to appear in media outside comics with the release of the 1944 movie serial, Captain America. Since then, the character has been featured in other films and television series.
