Unusual white metal, possibly silver as has a mark but not tested tiny box. The metal is a lovely arts and crafts design. There is a mark stamped on the side looks like a big D with G.A.S next to it and maybe what looks like another mark above the screw. Metal is fitted to the wood by teeny little screws some of which are missing. The hinge is perfectly made it all suggest to me this is silver. The wood l think is oak. The wooden box has been crudely repaired in the past so condition i...s as seen in photos. Would perhaps benefit from restoration as it's such a nice design the metalwork is well crafted. As you can see it's a small palm sized box.
