ANTIQUE GEORGIAN PINCHBECK SILHOUETTE PORTRAIT MINIATURE MOURNING LOCKET c1790
An antique English pinchbeck-type yellow metal locket, with glasses to both sides holding an old hair memento with gold bow / ribbon embellishment and reverse hand painted initials (H??) to one side and a portrait silhouette of a gentleman to the other, hinging open for easy access inside. A lovely Georgian locket...so collectible & wearable too!CONDITION: All original, with gilding wear commen...surate with age and use. Some fading, discolouring/deterioration and paint loss to both sides - see picturesDATE/MARKS: Around 1780/1800. Not marked.DIMENSIONS: 56 mm diameter (1 inch = 25.4 mm). To give an impression of scale, the coin is 19 mm or ¾ of an inch diameter.WEIGHT: Approx. 34.5 grams.Click here to view our other items.
