All three bill-heads have printed advertising for Houston Drug Company, Druggists, Houston, TX.
The first two billheads are dated 1896 and contain decorative type and the "I-X-L" remedies trademark. It also lists several quack cures & patent medicines on railroad ties under the decorative print, such as : Magic Relief; Mosquito Lotion; Cholera Specific; Liver Pills; Cough C...ure; etc....
The third billhead is dated 1897 and contains decorative type, ornamental & pictorial details, and a vignette exterior view of the firm's three-story storefront at the corner of Travis & Commerce Streets and the "I-X-L" remedies trademark.
Each bill is completed in manuscript (hand-written in both sepia ink & purple pencil) to "Jos. Trisram, Brenham." Brenham is a town halfway between Houston and Austin, in Washington Co., Texas.
The bill-heads measure 9 1/4 X 8 1/2 inches; 10 1/2 X 8 1/2 inches; & 11 1/2 X 8 1/2 inches.
They are in fair / poor condition due to stains, foxing spots, heavy age toning, folds, small holes; small tears & losses on the edges, and being trimmed on the bottom edges.
