This pretty piece measures 25.5 in x 43.5 in. The cotton fabrics are red and white, and green and brown, prints for the applique and a solid white for the background. As the photos show, the trapunto work is lovely! There are three quilting stitching patterns at 8-9 spi - diamond, grid and diagonal. I checked my books and couldn't find a name for the quilt pattern. It still has a lot of life for its age!
There are two red and white fabrics - one is faded and worn and the other... has split (see photo). The green and brown fabric is shattered. There is light aging throughout. The batting has shifted in some of the trapunto. The binding is worn. There's soiling in the triangular border area.
