Hi Folks, Here for your bidding consideration is this beautiful antique Brilliant period cut glass decanter with a Gorham Sterling silver stopper. The sterling hallmarks are Gorham and date this early 1900's. The decanters oval body is cut with alternating cut zippers & notches - The neck is paneled & cut with zippers - The applied handle is cut diamonds & ovals and topped with a flattened thumb rest - The bottom is rayed. Although unmarked do to the elegance of the beautif...ul glass work this could be a Hawkes or Libby piece. The glass is clear & refracts light and the neck is etched with the number 44 and the bottom of the stopper has an etched 3. Other than the stopper having one small surface nick on the bottom edge of the glass the piece is in lovely well taken care fo damage free condition. The stopper top has an ornate raised decorative design of baroque scrolls, florals & apples. The decanter stands 9 1/4" tall to the stopper.Please use your eye & good judgement prior to bidding.
