Norfolk Southern NS 8622 GE C39-8  Phase III DCC Ready Rivet Counter N SXT31149.  This one model that we are offering.  Although we do not see wear on the engine, we are offering it as used as it is from an estate.   The model is DCC ready and currently works in analog DC.   Built between 1984-1987, the General Electric C39-8 is powered by a 3, 900 h...orsepower  V16 7FDL-16 16 cylinder diesel prime mover engaged with a  GE GMC187A2 main alternator. The power generated by the main alternator drove 6 GE 752AG traction motors, each with a gear ratio of 83:20 and connected to 40-inch drivers which allowed the AAR C-C C39-8 a maximum speed of 70 mph.  Just over 150 units were delievered to eastern pikes.  The only two C39-8 locomotives in operation today are owned by the Pennsylvania Northeastern Railroad.  The model comes with its original box and insert.
