HO BrassSouthern Pacific Alco PA-2 A-Unit #6031 PLUS B-Unit #5922 PLUS A-Unit #6033circa 1953. Factory-Painted ‘Daylight’ with Icicle Breakers. Models Producedby Samhongsa of Korea for Key Imports in 1986. Custom Series #83 EXCELLENT.This handsome trio of ‘Daylight’painted Alco PA locomotives was widely used on the Southern Pacific. Alcoreleased the PA-series in 1949. This set of models represents a 1953 Alcorelease assigned to SP’s premier passenger trains well into the 1960...’s. Thedetails on this set represent the locos during the first years of theirservice. It’s an ideal lash-up to haul your ‘Shasta Daylight’. The A-units feature fullydetailed cab interiors. No number board designations have been installed. Cabwindows have been installed.All three models are powered. Allwheels are driven. Each model performs smoothly and quietly. A-Unit #6031 features a simulated ‘MARS’ lightin the upper headlight. I could not detect any wheel-wear. The original factoryfinish shows no signs of previous use. The B-Unit has some minor nicks on thescrews used to mount the chassis to the body. No nicks, dings or scuffs in theDaylight paint. The original box is provided in excellent condition. A poly bagwith optional drawbar connections and spare parts is included.Note: A Digitraxx non-sounddecoder has been installed in the 6031 A-unit. All of the lighting effects arewired through the decoder. It is currently programmed to analog operation. All lightingautomatically functions when operating under conventional analog operation. If you’ve been looking for a setof premium all-brass Alco’s for the point of your 1950’s-60’s ‘Shasta Daylight’, you will want to consider this highly sought after set.
