Mongolian Thangka
I picked this up on one of my around the world tours in1981. Mongolia was still a territory of the Soviet Union at the time. I traveled all overMongolia for most of August that year visiting Khartoum and the Gobi Desert aswell as the capitol Ulan Bator where this was purchased. It was not easy to find old treasures and the Communistgovernment had a heavy hand on people who traded their treasures for hardcurrencies. Regardless I was able t...o obtain several significant art treasuresand this is one of them. I will be adding many more items from my journeys.
This item has been rolled up and stored in a desk since purchase.

There is no doubt this was bought in Mongolia in 1981 as Idid it myself. While I bought it from a Mongolian in Ulan Bator I just do notknow if it was painted there or somewhere else. It is old, it is tattered, please look at the pictures for the condition. This is hundreds of years old and priced very low to give you a chance to own a real antiquity at a reasonable price.
This is a museum piece and I have priced it after researchon several major auction sites and had it valued.
