American Flyer Prewar "O" Gauge Steam Locomotive Motor With Bell For Repair Click Photos to Enlarge
Description Here's what appea...rs to me to be a complete and original American Flyer prewar "O" gauge steam locomotive motor that needs repair. The motor is presently locked up and I suspect swollen original wheels are the culprits. As a result, I could not test the operation of the motor - or lack thereof. This includes a manual reverse mechanism, what I think is an on-off switch for the bell(?) and either a pilot or trailing truck with good wheels. I am offering this motor "as-is" for repair, but there are lots of valuable parts on it for other projects if all else fails!
I bought a box lot of motors at a local auction with no other parts and am woefully ignorant inre prewar Flyer. I do not know which loco shell(s) this motor will fit and am relying on you prewar Flyer experts to recognize what I'm offering here. Your comments are welcome, but I may not be much help answering questions. Please examine all of my pictures, as I feel they "tell the story" better than I can.....Thanks for looking and, hopefully, bidding! :O)
