The mostly black and white printed poster is dated “copyright 1909” in the lower right corner. The watermelon is very pale pink. The title “A CASE OF DESERTION” is on lower center and “Painted by Denman Fink for Cream of Wheat” is on lower left. “Denman Fink 08” is visible in lower center of artwork. This is an original poster.
The image measures 9" x 13", glass size is 10-5/8” W by 14-3/8” H. The frame size is 12-5/8” W x 16-3/8” H. There is... some damage to the poster, upper right tear on edge and lower center ¾” tear (see photos). The frame, made of wood, is solid, but needs paint touch up. It is framed with glass in the front and cardboard in the back. I did not frame the picture, or remove it from its frame, so cannot tell the overall status of the picture vs. dirt on the glass. There may be some foxing on the margins.
