Illinois Watch Co. 16 size 11 jewel open face lever-set Railroad Dispatcher pocket watch. Scarce and attractive private label marked watch with its movement marked "Railroad Dispatcher" on its barrel bridge. Original dial is sunk-seconds enamel and is signed with "JMR" initials in script which are for the retailer John M. Roberts of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Watch is housed in a 25 year gold-filled Wadsworth Pilot case that has an engr...aved rear and has initials engraved within the shield on its rear. Movement serial number is 2321621.Running when wound but balance motion is sluggish and I think movement likely hasn't seen a servicing in many years. Nice looking movement with excellent color and luster. Dial is very nice with just a short scratch near the edge at 1:30 and with a minuscule nick to the lower right rim of the dial's center hole. Case shows even wear with reduced engraving detail and has two small dings on the right side of its band. Glass crystal is in good condition with just a small finish imperfection near its bottom edge. Please check out my other items this week for more great watches and watch related items for sale.
