Antique wood Schoenhut circus pony, part of the Humpty Dumpty Circus set. This horse measures 7 inches long, around 5 inches tall and 2 inches wide. The eyes are painted, indicating it’s circa 1920s to mid 1930s, when Schoenhut stopped making this set.
The wooden pieces of these toys are strung together, and this toy is relatively sturdy — it still stands, although the legs have a bit of give. The head still swivels and his tail is intact. The pieces were hand-painted, and there... is wear on the paint, and there’s a chip on the upper area near his neck.
This horse originally had a flat saddle on its back where a circus acrobat figure would have perched. The leather saddle strap and the bridle are still attached.
