Offered for sale is an original USAF experimental test sample dark blue flight jacket in a large size, possibly a long also. The jacket is thin like a L-2B light flight jacket but it has decent weight to it. The color is great and unfaded... my pictures don't do it justice. The jacket is from the estate of Lieutenant Colonel Gerry Smith and there is a shadow on the left breast where a name tab was removed. The zipper works fine as do all snaps. Light white spots are present on the back... of the left sleeve, these seem to not be set in and would possibly launder out with dry cleaning. No holes are present on the cuffs or waistband and I only see one very minor snag on one cuff. A small, very minor snag is present on the blue fabric near the collar. The lining looks great. This is a nice large size example of a jacket which is very, very hard to find. Shoulders-21", pit to pit-23", sleeves-25", and length-26.5". I take the extra time to include accurate dimensions on applicable items so please refer to them before bidding. Virginia residents must pay 5.3% sales tax.
