Up for sale is a very rare 7x9 Type 2 second generation Associated Press photo taken by Marine Corps Combat Photographer Joe Rosenthal. Rosenthal was instrumental in documenting the battle and was responsible for taking the famous second flag raising photo on Mt. Suribachi. The photo is crystal clear and perfectly contrasted. Full detail can be viewed all along the beach as well as in the hills of the Boat Basin. UNIS markings and writing is clearly viewab...le as well as the whites of the marines eyes. I will let the pictures tell the story of condition. This is a real Type 2 photograph and WILL pass authentication.
