Very Fine or BetterFor your World Currency or Egyptian Banknote Collection - PCU808DetailsDescription: A beautiful very fine or better large banknote from Egypt. This is the May 14, 1964 five pounds. This large size note is green in color with a pink underprint in the center of the front. It depicts Tutankhamen in lilac color at right of center on the front. The back has two circles and a central image of Arabesqu...e decoration all in green. The left circle has the denomination, while the right circle houses the watermark. The note has Arabic writing on the front and English writing on the back. This particular note has the serial number 023942 and is series "Th/152". It is signed by Ahmed Zendo the Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt at the time. The banknote has a water mark showing the Heraldic Hawk of Quraish, the Egyptian emblem with two stars on its chest. It has some of its original crispiness, has minor soiling, has three vertical creases and one horizontal crease. It was issued by the Central Bank of Egypt. Condition: I would grade this banknote as a very fine with all the details being very well preserved. The note has three vertical creases, one horizontal crease, some soiling, and some staining along the bottom edge of the back especially at the ends of the folds. It is an attractive note, but with evidence of handling and wear. The note is still relatively crisp and not floppy. It has no tears or splits, but the edges show some wear especially at the ends of the folds. Corners are intact but show wear, some bumps, and some rounding. The banknote has no pinholes and no graffiti. Please see photo for additional condition information.
