The vital statistics: one 1965 France 10 francs coin, KM# 932; silver, 0.9000 fineness, 25.00 g (0.88 oz.) weight, actual silver weight 0.7234 oz., 37 mm (1.46 inches) diameter.
The image on the obverse illustrates an ancient Greek legend about Hercules. As a young man he was approached by two radiant women - goddesses - one representing the life of pleasure, the other the life of honor. He was made to choose between t...he two - a life full of every pleasure known to human & god, or a life of full of trials, trouble and suffering, but achieving honor that would result in a name passed down for eternity. Hercules chose honor.
This coin is in brilliant AU condition. Fine details of all raised surfaces are clear and sharp - e.g. the facial features of Hercules and the two females, the folds on the women's gowns, the leaves in the reverse wreath. The coin also glows with mint luster. Scattered light scratches and light sulfur deposits in the letters located in the upper right obverse & reverse quadrants are the only flaws to this coin & keep it from a BU grade.
The item in the photo is the one you would receive upon purchase. This is a raw coin, offered for sale as is. If you are dissatisfied with your purchase when you receive it, I'll be happy to accept it back and to refund your purchase price. The only condition is that I would ask you to pay return postage. Purchases of multiple items will be combined into a single parcel & excess shipping fees refunded.I currently do not accept international orders. They seem more complicated than I can manage just now. My apologies for any disappointment this may create.
