Shepherd Field, Barksdale Field, Fort Myers Camp (new), Casablanca Harbor, French Foreign legion, Algiers, Germans in a truck (one killed), Commanding officer having a break down, Air raids, Tunis, Tunisia, Sicily, Gala, Italy, the N...egro 99 Squadron flying P40 (one crashed and burned in field by us, an A36 with two 500 bombs landed and one fell off and rolled down the runway towards us, the Famous 57 fighter squad P40's, left Malazzo, Barcelona Airfield, some were killed on the beach by Germans on the beach in Salerno, Italy, German 88 shelling every hour we stayed in our Fox holes, Naples, wrecked ships, German airplanes air raid planes damaged, German artillery opened fire rolled down hill and hid in cave for 2 hours shots were hitting close, shrapnel in leg, received letters from home, Mount Vesuvius belching smoke and streams of Lava towns evacuated 2 days before the eruption, two P47's totally wrecked one pilot got out before it crashed but his parachute didn't have time to open, we loaded much of the Airplanes on flatbed trucks, repaired a B26 with 60 flack holes in it and took a ride in it, a P38 crash, an A36 chasing a German on a motorcycle, P47's and A36's with more than 150 combat missions, big drive to Rome has started, French and Americans have broken through German lines, June 5 Rome fell today....
