For sale at auction without reserve is this very impressive large heavy solid silver 1873 antique fusee pock watch by Thomas Wheeler of Preston. This is a real quality watch with 13 jewels and split bimetallic compensated balance wheel. Although the watch is complete and runs it stops and goes, it probably needs servicing. The chain, mainspring, and balance are good but it needs attention. The watch is keywind... and set a replacement key will be supplied.
Lovely double sunk white enamel dial with roman numerals and seconds subsidiary dial. Good set of matching blue steel hands which compliment the watch.
Very large heavy case in great condition. The diameter is 56mm and 80mm if you include the bow, the hinges are gold and are very strong and unworn. the case on its own weighs 2.9oz, the case and movement have the same number 30576. Condition is superb without any dents or deep scratches, just some slight pocket wear commensurate with its age.
