This auction is for a high grade Tiffany & Co pocket watch movement. After researching this, it ...appears that these movements were made by the renowned watch makers Patek Phillipe. I have found several pretty much identical to this one that are described as such.
The watch is obviously in need of repair. It is missing it's balance wheel, hairspring and balance cock. It does however have the enamel dial which is perfect and undamaged, marked below 12.00 'Tiffany & Co New York' and the beautiful Breguet hour and minute hands still attached.
The movement signed Tiffany & Co New York with the serial number 18713.
It measures 32mm across and would make a perfect conversion to a gents wristwatch.
You will be buying exactly what’s in the images. I have described this movement to the best of my ability but my knowledge is limited.
I have spent a a long time getting decent high spec images.
These images form an important and essential part of the description and should be studied carefully.
These kind of items are specialised and really only appeals to a certain kind of collector or professional and they should possess an in depth knowledge that is better suited to inform on price and rarity.
On that basis, everything from this estate will be listed with no reserve and a £1.00 start price.
Please feel free to email any questions you may have or if you require and extra images.
I am not offering any returns on any of the items offered from this estate as I cannot guarantee they work.
I will always endeavour to describe them honestly to the best of my ability but this is very specialised and quite academic so any queries or questions then get them to me.
Please do check out all my other watches I will be listing.
Combined postage is always offered.
NO RESERVE and sold as-is.
Again to reiterate. There is no warranty. Please do not win this auction unless you a going to pay. Please be sure you want this watch before you bid and please pay for it within 5 days of the auction ending.I am not a watchmaker and do no repairs and all these watches listed are being sold with no reserve and as is. I endeavour to describe them to the best of my ability but at the end of the day the final winning bid is the market value put on it by fair competative bidding.
