VERY LONG 4 PAGE LETTER, PAGES ARE LARGER THAN NORMAL, TONS OF AMAZING CONTENT, TOO MUCH TO MENTION, PLEASE READ ALL 4 PAGES, FROM G.W. FERREE, DATED MARCH 1864, STAMP POSTMARKED NASHVILLE TEN, LETTER HEADLINED LOUDON TENN, SENT TO PARENTS, TO WILLIAM FERREE IN MANSFIELD, RICHLAND CO, OHIO -- SENDER George Washington Ferree 1837-1913,  
Husband of Mary Elizabeth Robinson Ferree then Viola Marie Strait Ferree.

Served with Co. E of the 59th OH Infantry, attained rank of Sgt in the Civil War. His younger brother John, was in the same regiment. They both fought at the battle of Chicamauga, GA on Sept. 19-20, 1863. George was wounded in the arm while carrying his injured brother, John, off the field of battle. John did not survive his injuries. Their brother Richard was fighting with a different unit in the same battle. He was captured and later died in Andersonville, GA prison.  
Before and after the war George was a teacher.

GEORGE W FERREE had 2 brothers & many 1st cousins who also served in the Civil War. His 1st cousins, Carey Westerfield & Shadrach M. Ferree also fought with the 59th Ohio, Co E.
