This antique sugar and creamer setis unmarked by the manufacturer, but very closely resembles pieces made by Manning& Bowman Co. (1849-1945) located in Meriden, Connecticut. Both pieces feature a white enamel bodydecorated with a pretty hand-painted autumn leaf motif that is mirrored on thefront and back panels. Pewter trim inthe form of handles, spout, rim and body bands further enhance both pieces. The creamer stands approximately 6 ½” inheight, 5” in lengt...h and 4” in width (including handle and spout). The double-handled open sugar measuresapproximately 5 ¼” in height, 6” in length and 4” in width (including handles). Both of these enamelware pieces are in verygood vintage condition with the exception of the following flaws: tarnish/discoloration and minor dents/nicks/scuffs/scratchesto the pewter; slight discolorations on the interior/exterior and what appearsto be craze lines on the interior and exterior of the creamer. Despite these few flaws this is a rarematching sugar and creamer set and well-preserved treasures from the past!
