Here is a beautifuland of the high quality sterling silver spoon from Portland Oregon featuring, starting from the top: of eagle holding state seal with ships, raising sun, settlers wagon, THE UNION banner and plow, below standing Indian Lady withraised hand and holding papoose baby on her back (Indian Lady Sacajawea) andwriting OREGON down the handle. In the bowl it has embossed very detailed imageof three figures heading toward the left side (west or toward the sun), thewriting above... is THE LEWIS & CLARK CENTENNIAL EXPOSITION, within sunraysWESTWARD HO and below WESTWARD THE COURSE OF EMPIRE TAKES ITS WAY, PORTLAND OREGON 1905.On the back of handle showsmountain scene of MT. HOOD and below water fall scene ofMULTNOMAH FALLS. Measures 5 1/8” (130 mm) inch long, condition of the spoon isexcellent. On the back marked STERLING and has hallmark with the old mark of Hon a pennant for Mechanics Sterling Company, which was subsidiary of WatsonNewell Co.
