This source sells gifts given to our public officials that, by law, they can't keep. The National Registry publishes these transactions. According to that registry this watch was gifted by the King of Saudi Arabia to one of two people. One of these is John Kerry. I have included the excerpt from the registry. The watch was purchased in ...Saudi Arabia on 3/23/14 as shown on the card and the registry shows it as being gifted by King Abdullah on 3/28/14. On March 28 Obama and John Kerry travelled to Saudi Arabia to reduce tensions over Iran nuclear programme. Obama received a gold plated replica of the Makkah Clock tower and Kerry a black faced Rolex. Because this watch was a gift and immediately given to the NR, it is in new unused condition.
