This Delft tile, representing the city of Gravenhage, Netherlands, is one of several that came from a home in Germany. The family traveled throughout Europe during the early 1900s and brought back treasured mementos of their trips.This tile has beautiful matte and gloss glazing which includes extensive gold metallic detail. The colors are vibrant which mak...e this a great piece. The Delft trademark is impressed on the back, along with the number 4 in the lower left hand corner. The original string for hanging is present and in place. There are two tiny fleabite chips along the back of the left side edge. See the sixth photo.The tile is square and measures 4 3/4 inches (12 cm) on each side and is 0.39 inches (1 cm) high. It weighs 9.6 oz (273 g).This tile is one of three similar tiles.
