Up for bid and for your consideration is a vintage Rex wind-up alarm clock with classic 60s styling and it works!
This clock would be great in a stylish room or for anyone who likes vintage clocks! To you clock collectors it would be a cool addition to your collection.
The details:
This clock measures about 4-1/4 inches tall to the top of the alarm shut off button, about 4-1/8 inches wi...de and about 2-1/4 inches deep including the key.
It has a cream colored dial that has a light teal center section. It has black Arabic numerals. There is an inner ring with dashes representing the minutes with thicker dashes at the 5 minute marks. The dashed area is highlighted by a shiny silver background.
The crystal feels like plastic and is in great condition with no major scratches or scuffs. It is held in place by a brass colored bezel.
It has black hands featuring a center cut out in each hand. The alarm indicator hand is black.
The face is marked "Rex" below the hands. and "Made in U.S.A. 81" under the 6 at the bottom edge of the dial. I don't know what the 81 stands for, the clock definitely has 60s styling!
The case of the clock is molded plastic and is one piece including the feet. There are stress cracks radiating from the nuts that hold the movement in place, but everything is solid. There is also a crack on the left side of the clock, but it too is solid with no separation.
The winder and set knobs are all present. There is a fast/slow adjustment.
The clock works! As does the alarm. It kept reasonable time over a short test period of about 4 hours.
This interesting clock would be a great addition to your home decor or clock collection! Maybe you know someone who would enjoy this as a gift? Why not bid now?!
