Addressed to Monroe Wheeler, a NY publisher and board member of the Museum of Modern Art. Reads: It was so very nice of y...ou to present me with your beautiful edition of the Fables for my birthday. MONROE WHEELER (1900-89) was associated with the Museum of Modern Art for nearly five decades. At one point he was the head of its department of exhibitions and publications. GLENWAY WESCOTT (1901-87) as an accomplished American poet, essayist and novelist. He was a figure of the American expatriate literary community in Paris in the 1920s. Mr. Wescott also was the longtime, gay, companion of Wheeler for 66 years.
