This is a beautiful hand made VINTAGE OLD VINTAGE IKEBANA BASKET OVAL WITH HANDLE, VASE FLOWER ARRANGER FROM A THREE GENERATION ESTATE that I am currently liquidating. I believe it to be Chinese from early 1940's, but leave it to the experts on eBay. It's in beautiful, condition - held atop a curio cabinet (no sun) for many, many years. The coloration is classic and workmanship is exquisite. The weave is gorgeous - and varied in style on the handle attachments, and body of the weave -... a very skilled artesian created this basket! Impeccable attention to detail. Large tall accent handle. Here are the approximate measurements: Bottom of basket 5" shorter side 6 7/8" longer side dimension as it's oval; 9" tall with handle; 3 7/8" high basket without handle - a substantial piece!! A beautiful piece of art - authentic Chinese/Japanese Ikebana baskets are rare and hard to find. Perfect for your home, office, collection or extravagant gift to someone very, very special!
