Coca Cola made these straight sided bottles starting in 1903. The straight sided bottles first started with the amber color in 1903 and later with the clear, green bottles in 1905 and both ran until 1916 when Coca Cola started making the familiar Hobbleskirt bottles.
This bottle has "Coca Cola" on one side, across the bottom. It was first bottled in Nashville, Tennessee. On the Nashville side it st...ates, "408". The bottle was made by the Root Bottle Co. as stated on the bottom of the bottle. The Root Co. later won the patent on the later Hobbleskirt Coca Cola bottle.
The bottle is over 110 years old. It has been bottled many times, as you can see the scrapes on the sides. Other than the broken top, the bottle has no chips or cracks, just plenty of patina and case wear, with internal marks and bubbles, common with the primitive process.
