This auction is for Volumes 1(one) and 2(two) together, of The Beatles' George Harrison's "Songs By George Harrison": Produced in 1987 and 1992, respectively, by Genesis Publications (U.K.) in collaboration with George (and illustrated by Keith West), these are luxurious, super-deluxe box sets containing the songs of George Harrison, a special CD in each, and each autographed by George Harrison (both are also sequentially numbered). A letter is included from Genesis to the ...original owner showing the exact numbered copy of both these sets. The provenance on these items is known and 100% ironclad. Each set was limited to a run of 2500, and are highly collectable. The volume 1 box set was issued in 1987, and contains the lyrics to 60 of George's songs, and a CD containing unreleased Harrison recordings (Sat Singing, Lay His Head, For You Blue, Flying Hour), 3 of these songs are tracks that Warner Brothers rejected. Volume 1 is a review copy numbered 39 (out of 250) in Roman Numerals (XXXlX) evidenced by the added card on the signature page - see photos 4 and 5 (it looks like the added card was lightly adhered on the very left edge of the page at one time). There is also a forward by Jeff Lynne (ELO) and a written contribution from Elton John in this volume. The volume 2 box set contains the lyrics to another 59 songs, and also contains a rare CD (Life Itself, Hottest Gong In Town, Tears Of The World, Hari's On Tour Express), it is also autographed by George Harrison and numbered 1050 out of 2500. This volume 2 contains contributions from Ringo Starr and Harry Nilsson. I encourage the reader to research these volumes (the absolute provenance, rarity, and luxury of these items is over-the-top).
