The most incredible rare Salvatore Melani signed Italian 40s-50's chalk ware lamp, A well renowned Italian sculpture who made the best of the Tretchikoff era lamps. This piece is simply breathtaking! very elegant oriental lady in black, gold and bronze tones. Would work equally well in a chinoiserie setting as a modernist, mid century or Art Deco room.
We have dealt in mid century for years and we have never seen this particular design. She's a beauty, and has been fully re wi...red and is in perfect working order.Condition is lovely only minor wear commensurate age, the shade which is original shows a little more wear. The odd crease here and there but still looks great.She measures 26 inches (66 1/2 cms) to top of shade.
She can be collected from Margate in Kent or Hackney E2 by arrangement.Also happy to post signed for.
