Here is a FANTASTIC ca 1905 Matching Mettlach Villeroy & Boch Jugendstil Art Nouveau 10.5" Bowl and a 12" Platter. These are STRIKING pieces with a very fine incised dendritic tree design in cobalt blue, cream and carmel colors. This was made during the Jugendstil period in Germany, which was Germany's version of Art Nouveau.
Both pieces are signed with a hand-inscribed mark. The bowl is signed with a Mettlach VB mark, and the number 3364. The platter is ma...rked with the same mark, and the number 2960.
Both are in Good condition. No cracks, no nicks. Just a small shallow flake on the back of the platter as shown. In addition, the bowl has a shallow chip that was glued back in at some point in its life. You can see these clearly in the closeup images below.
Size of the bowl is 10 1/2 inches in diameter and 4 inches high. The platter is 12 inches in diameter.
