Sturdy & Useful Serving PlatterThis Large Oval Plate measures slightly under 19" X 15”Weighs almost five pounds 🦃 Beautiful Condition. Overall excellent condition for age.No chips, no cracks, no crazing, no stains, no knife cut marks. Bottom has a few of usual marks fired into the original glazing.There is a wear mark about 1.25" long on the bottom of dish. It can be seen in the photo. Shows slight signs of gentle use. No excessive wear or damage.Decoration is not scratched or worn. Colors are bright not cloudy.
🦃 The platter is from my Grandmother, born in 1915.My family has enjoyed for many decades of careful use.
It was prominently displayed behind the big glass door in the dining room china cabinet.Gram would refer to this serving dish tray as the "antique turkey platter".When she asked for that - we knew exactly which serving dish she meant.
For special family occasions it was on the table ready to serve the main dish of our meal.Cutting was not allowed on this dish. Meat was carved on a board beside the table first.Then served from this platter.~~~
